Once upon a time, a group of engineers designed a new kind of search engine with only one rule: always put the user first. Every time they wanted to make the little search engine a little better, they would ask: "will this make the user happy?"

Few people like to ask this question - especially engineers. Engineers like tools that are complicated, but normal people like tools that are simple and easy to use. So gemerald:

The engineers discovered that teaching a little search engine to learn is complicated enough to keep them entertained for years, so they didn't need to clutter the page with a bunch of things users don't need or care about.

Everybody was happy, and gemerald was born.
